The Brokopondo Lake Wood N.V. project focused on the development and enhancement of timber processing infrastructure at the Brokopondo Lake site in Suriname. Vaishnavi Constructions N.V. was engaged as the principal construction partner for this multi-phase project, with involvement spanning from initial site preparation through to full operational support.

We managed the initial groundwork and site preparation, ensuring the site was ready for construction and future facility operations. This included land clearing, foundation work, and the development of access routes and logistics infrastructure appropriate for heavy industrial use in a lakeside environment.
A critical component of this project was the design and construction of a purpose-built pontoon capable of transporting up to 300 CBM (cubic metres) of round logs across the lake. This specialized marine structure enabled efficient log transportation from forested concession areas to the processing facility — a cornerstone of the client’s operational logistics model.
We constructed a staff accommodation facility to support the permanent and rotating workforce operating at the remote site. The facility was built to provide safe, functional, and comfortable living conditions for operational personnel.
The working and processing area was expanded to accommodate increased operational throughput. This included the development of additional floor space, covered working areas, and the infrastructure required to support timber grading, treatment, and staging for export.
Beyond construction, Vaishnavi Constructions N.V. provided ongoing operational support to help the client maintain and develop their processing capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. This included maintenance assistance, technical coordination, and structural adaptations as operational requirements evolved.
